About the Breed

Loving small breed (9.5-18 pounds), hypoallergenic, no shedding (long hair), no dog scent, low barker, great bladder control when kept on as schedule (as with larger breeds), extremely intelligent, loving, affectionate temperament, and easy to train. Great with young children (over 5 years of age), elderly, existing pets, and known as a loving therapy support dog. This breed wants to please others and existing pets. They integrate well into a new loving home and do best with another dog or someone home most of the day due to the fact that they like to be with their human companion. Average life span of this specific breeding line is estimated to be 16-22 years of age with no known health conditions. Cotons are incredible affectionate companions. Several of our customers dogs have certified their Cotons as service dogs and trained them as emotional support dogs. Interesting fact … This breed also has webbed feet and loves the water!
